Job Description

One of the largest Supply Chain and Logistics companies is looking for a skilled Desktop Support/Network Administrator to join their growing team. This role involves traveling to all 17 sites in the Chicago area to provide on-site technical support. You will work closely with the enterprise network admin team to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of our network infrastructure in our Distribution Centers.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Technical Support: Travel to various sites to provide hands-on support for network, phone, and desktop issues.
Printer Management: Manage and troubleshoot a fleet of 50+ Zebra printers, addressing reconfiguration and ongoing issues.
Network Administration: Handle networking tasks such as taking down and reconfiguring access points (APs) and upgrading network circuits to 5 Gbps.
Helpdesk Support: Assist corporate end-users through the helpdesk by diagnosing problems and offering solutions through a logical sequence of questions.
Problem-Solving: Utilize strong troubleshooting skills to resolve a wide variety of technical issues efficiently, minimizing downtime.
Documentation: Document procedures and follow established protocols to help IT Management identify and address recurring trends.
Communication: Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to users, ensuring they are informed and satisfied with the support provided.
Hardware/Software Setup: Set up new hardware and software as needed.
On-Call Support: Be available for on-call support as required.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a Desktop Support/Network Admin or Systems Admin Professional
Proficient in Server Administration and Networking, with experience in supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365 applications.
Strong background in Active Directory and general system administration tasks.
Excellent communication abilities, capable of guiding customers step-by-step through problem resolution.
Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
Experience troubleshooting printers, particularly Zebra printers.
Ability to install, move, and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must have a valid drivers license and a vehicle for site-to-site travel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication capabilities.
A strong desire to learn and grow within the IT field, go-getter mentality

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Specific experience in the logistics/supply chain industry.
A 4-year degree is desired.
Any relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Security Certification, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or ITIL Foundation Certification.
Additional knowledge in SQL, PowerShell, and Windows service setup.
Experience supporting warehouse operations and distribution management buildings
