Candidate can work in Austin, TX (preferred) or Downtown Chicago.
Day to Day:
Advise clients about their legal rights in areas such as Consumer Protection Law.
Consult with clients to understand their concerns and assess the validity of their claims.
Prepare and draft legal documents, such as complaints, briefs, and other pleadings to be filed with the court.
Gather evidence to formulate a defense or initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain facts of a case.
Negotiate settlements of civil disputes:
Advocate for changes in laws and regulations that will better protect consumers.
Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
Collaborate closely with Partner of the firm on all current and upcoming cases.
Light supervision of Paralegals / Legal Assistants on team. No supervisory experience required.
