- Perform various tests, lab processing, staining, preparation of slides, special histological stains
- Track supplies and expenses, provide documents and correspondence for reports
- Maintain equipment and prepare for lab use
- Dispose chemicals
- Prepare, clean and maintain instruments
- Be able to 'command the ship' and keep everyone on track throughout the evening
- Able to answer questions from more junior techs
