Job Description

Provides effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results, and other criteria in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives.
Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates performance of assigned staff. Identifies and effectively resolves employee issues.
Reviews performance against operating plans, objectives, and benchmarks. Takes corrective action when necessary to improve performance.
Ensures the regional center functions in compliance with all regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures, including deviation management and effective, timely corrective action.
Collaborates with staff and business unit leadership to continually seek strategies to improve efficiencies, working conditions, customer satisfaction, and resolve conflicts.
Fosters and monitors the effectiveness of service to the community, ensuring division management is responsive to local needs of donors and customers. Recommends actions to improve existing services and add new services or service areas.
Defines and exemplifies expectations for effective communications within the center and business unit.
Coordinates local operations with business unit leadership for consistency, quality, and customer service. Collaborates within the community with donors and customers.
Represents the business unit in enterprise functional council meetings, projects, and initiatives.
Participates in the annual budget preparation and ensures adherence to the approved department budget.
Stays abreast of changes and developments in the blood banking industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships.

Required Skills & Experience

5 or more years leadership experience
Experience overseeing teams
Previous experience working at a non-profit (example: American Red cross)
Experience overseeing multiple donation sites
Experience networking in community, working close with community (schools, chamber of commerce)
Bachelors degree required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous blood center or health care industry
Previous non-profit experience
