Job Description

The Lead Data Scientist/Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Medicare Clinical Stars program by providing technical expertise in data engineering, particularly focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Hadoop ecosystems. This role involves working within a team of data engineers, acting as a liaison between the Data Intelligence group and the Clinical Stars Data Science group, and providing technical support to enable data-driven insights for clinical stars initiatives.



The Lead Data Engineer collaborates closely with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, analytics solutions, and machine learning models that drive improvements in Medicare clinical outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree

Extensive experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and analytics solutions using GCP and Hadoop technologies

Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and related data processing and storage technologies

Ability to build data pipelines from scratch

Ability to lead initiatives through completion

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working in healthcare or health insurance domains, with knowledge of Medicare programs and clinical quality measures (e.g., HEDIS, STAR ratings)
