Job Details:
This position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, performance tuning, and capacity management for all organizational systems as directed by management and senior staff. This position will provide 3rd level support and mentoring for Associate Programmer Analysts and support staff.
The specific focus of this position is to apply and enforce overall release management process; to construct deployment schedules with milestones showing key dependencies between components of the release; to actively build and package those components; and, to ultimately deploy those components into post-Development environments and provide 3rd level support. This position will primarily focus on all release engineering and management responsibilities related to our clients broad student facing environments and applications.
Core Programmer Responsibilities
Designs, installs, configure supports, optimize, and administer server and/or network systems and applications.
Analyzes project needs/requirements and recommends solutions to enable enterprise integration.
Develops and implements systems and/or network standards, processes, and security.
Communicates with vendors to obtain configurations and best practice recommendations.
Troubleshoots and resolves help desk tickets as assigned.
Shares on-call responsibilities for afterhours support, as required.
Trains and mentors team members and other technical resources as necessary.
Core Release Management Responsibilities
Work closely with project managers, system administrators, QA Analysts, DBAs, and Development, Operational Support teams during the development, test, and launch phases of the software development life cycle, to configure and release application code into QA and Production environments.
Track application configuration through Development, QA, and Production environments.
Manage release schedules and coordinate releases for multiple applications in Windows and Linux environments.
Manage Azure Repo GIT source code control systems.
Perform root cause analysis, practice risk mitigation, and moderate conversations between multiple stakeholders.
Define and manage change control process for development and release readiness criteria and ensure all changes meet criteria prior to deployment.
Accounting for any dependencies and risks along the way; identify issues and perform root-cause analysis to ensure they are not repeated.
Facilitate release activities across all Student Information System Applications, ensuring quality and timely deployments across environments.
Monitor all lower environments for release process / creating and synchronizing appropriate data sets.
Validate Post Release Activities /Track release metrics to improvement and report successes/failures to stakeholders and Teams.
Work with Student Information Systems Applications Team Coordinate Release Calls, and Support Activities
Should have strong understanding of deployments using migration tools (Salesforce Tools IDE, GITHub, and Version Control)
Perform and Support on Student Information Systems Applications Administration Activities

6+ years of experience as a Banner ERP Developer or Programmer
Higher Education experience required.
Proficient in Oracle Development and programming,
Five (5) plus years of overall SDLC experience.
Three (3) plus years of Software Release Management experience, including:
o Using version control (Azure DevOps Repo preferred).
o Reviewing and following deployment instructions provided by the Development team.
o Implementing and executing build scripts (Azure DevOps Pipeline).
o Packaging and versioning the various components of deployment packages.
o Deployment to non-Development environments, with attention to detail related to environment-specific configuration settings.
Web APIs
Problem solving skills
ServiceNow ticketing system experience (automation exp is preferred)
Experience developing advanced PL/SQL objects with robust error handling.
Experience developing and supporting system data feeds and integration between Banner and other systems.
