Job Description

A client in the Lombard, IL area is looking for a Paraprofessional / Special Education Teacher Assistant to join their growing school district.

Help develop knowledge and skills, nurture the confidence and character, and meet the needs of all students by using Connections Academy instructional models, strategies, and curriculum, under the guidance of the teaching professional.

Assist students with any educational, physical, and health needs.

Supervise small group and individual student learning activities in the classroom.

Assist the teacher in applying remediation for diagnosed learning problems and assist students in testing situations.

Assist the teacher in applying intervention and prevention strategies to facilitate student achievement.

Tutor individual students or small groups.

Assess student progress.

Consult with the teacher on methodology, classroom management, or instructional approach.

Perform clerical work relevant to assigned students as assigned by the special education teacher.

Other duties, as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

B.A/B.S degree in teaching or 60 hours of college credit classes

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, administration and the general public.

Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.

Must have the proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
