Job Description

We invite you to join the GIS team as an Oracle DB Developer. We are a tight-knit, supportive community passionate about delivering the best experience for our customers while remaining sensitive to their unique needs.



In this role, you will be using the experience you have gained throughout your career to assist in the design, development, and implementation of various complex applications. We also like for our developers to feel comfortable contributing throughout the application stack and we believe it is important that you follow best practices established by the team, including proper source code control practices and delivery of unit test cases.

Whether you are building applications from scratch, de-bugging existing code, or collaborating with various teams/team-members, for example, your skills will be tested and your knowledge-base will grow as you rise to meet the challenges.



Desired Skills:

-Conducts logical and physical database design

-Designs key and indexing schemes and designs partitioning

-Constructs and implements operational data store

-Analyze and Optimize query performance

-Ensures that data models are consistent with the ecosystem

-Adheres to data management standards and advises on best practices

-Participates in building and testing business continuity disaster recovery procedures per requirements

-Has experience with relational database internals, including both query processing and query planning, or other data processing infrastructure

-Has knowledge of key data structures and algorithms

-Has knowledge of data modeling and understanding of different data structures and their benefits and limitations under particular use cases

-Has experience with dealing with data at scale

-Has experience adhering to strict audit standards

-Has experience with relational database management systems (e.g. Oracle)

-Has experience in different programming/scripting languages (e.g. python) and ETL tools (e.g. Informatica)

-Experience with Data Analysis and Science will be a plus, the ideal candidate should be able to understand the business driven off the data and how it fits into the Application platform

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of Oracle Development experience -- they use 19c, anything newer than 12c is fine

- Develop and troubleshoot - PL/SQL

- Analysis and Performance tuning of queries and scripts

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Informatica -- only need basic experience to pull data
