Job Summary
*Prepare wiring, diagrams, panel design, P&IDs, single lines, electrical physicals, functional descriptions.
*Administer the design/construction of projects and supervise construction activities.
*Preparation of design criteria and functional descriptions for electrical equipment (power/controls/building systems/lighting/life safety), calculations, equipment selection, drawings, sketches/layouts, and specifications.
*Project tasking, preparation of cost estimates, schedules, purchase documents, review and handling of drawings and submittals, and field work.
*Provide high quality engineering support to the operations team towards achieving the target yield.
*Evaluating opportunities to scrap goals by identifying and resolving operations issues.
*Prepare calculations associated with power distribution, lighting, building modeling, building loads, coordination, and protection.
Required Skills & Experience
Role Must Have Qualifications
*Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
*At least 6 years of relative professional experience.
*Knowledgeable of IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, UL, IBC, and Chicago Electric Code, NEMA, electrical industry codes.
*Expertise/familiarity with industrial power distribution and protection, UPS systems, switchgear, emergency generators, life safety, PLCs, building automation, ladder logic, motor controls, low voltage systems including fire signaling, burg-access control, surveillance, utility infrastructure systems.
*Advanced Computer proficiency in MicroStation AutoCAD, Office Suite, ERP software (SAP or Oracle).
*Experience related to building design & construction projects, plant rearrangement / remodel projects and electrical systems.
*Ability to prepare and control construction documents such as estimates, scheduled, change notices.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
*Excellent communication, basic bookkeeping/project accounting skills, ability to review, interpret and comment on drawings as required to accurately communicate desired construction to contractors.
