Job Description

Our large financial client is looking for a Global Mobility/Immigration Lead to support their team in Chicago. This is a remote role that is expected to work CST hours. The Lead will be responsible for one direct report, and work with the Benefits team that consists of the Benefits Director and three consultants. The Global Mobility/Immigration Lead is responsible for overseeing the process of relocating employees internationally. Responsibilities include:



* Work with outside immigration counsel to manage U.S. visa and permanent residency cases internally

* Collaborate with other functional areas within the organization as an expert on U.S immigration and global mobility

* Collaborate on review of companywide policies related to a hybrid work model

* Manage vendor for global relocation administration

* Consult and assist with mergers and acquisitions

* Suggest process improvements for immigration and global mobility

* Provide trainings to HRBP (HR Business Partners), Recruiters, and Hiring Managers on U.S. immigration

* Act as a liaison between HRBPs, Hiring Managers, and outside immigration attorney for escalated U.S. immigration cases

* Responsible for one direct report

* Prepare cases for annual H-1B cap lottery

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor Degree in a business related field

* 5-7 years of experience in Global Mobility and Immigration cases

* Working knowledge of U.S employer sponsored visas and permanent residency processes

* Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables)

* Strong attention to detail with a customer service mindset

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience with Workday

* GMS Certificate (Global Mobility Specialist)

* Background in tax
