REMOTE R&D Scientist Product and Packaging Development

Insight Global is seeking a Scientist of Product and Packaging Development that will be tasked with developing packaging for an emerging brand for one of our established Consumer Packaged Goods clients. This project will allow the individual to grow their technical leadership and technical product development skills through direct interaction with cross-functional teams and introduce innovations to the consumer-packaged goods market.



Day to Day:



* Lead execution of formula and product development with culinary team

* Work with cross functional teams to lead project commercialization, including Marketing, Operations, Quality, External Manufacturers, and Procurement

* Support/lead project teams as a proactive technical resource

* Implement consumer tests in collaboration with Consumer Sciences team

* Develop and manage deliverables to achieve R&D timelines

* Contribute technical documentation to build product specifications and related databases

* Design and conduct plant trials

* Direct communication with suppliers and manufacturing partners

Must Haves:

* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Packaging Science, Dairy Science, Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or adjacent technical discipline preferably

* 3+ years' experience in product development and commercialization

* Background in the food or consumer products industry

* Full product lifecycle experience (specifically scaling up and packaging implementation)

* Willing to travel and work overtime on occasion

* Excellent communication, influencing, prioritization, and project management skills
