Job Description
Day to Day:
Our client is looking for a Sr Data Scientist to join a team called the Data Lab in a Business unit called Health Solutions and be the senior SME of Data Science on the team. This team consists of one other Data Scientist, lead developers and engineers, and the Director of Data Science and Analytics. This Sr Data Scientist will lead the development and application of machine learning and other data science tools to continually improve Health Solutions' use of data assets including the Physician Masterfile. This person will analyze company data assets and potential data acquisitions, and analyze the company data to optimize current usage and enable new business uses develop metrics scorecards and trending reports, and predictive models that inform business decisions. The Sr Data Scientist on the team will focus a lot of enhancing and improving the data quality and perform in depth analysis on current data in order to make what they have more robust. They will identify new data sets and identify if is quality data sets to use or not. They will be maintaining and improving at least one model they have in place. Develop and implement new and modernized capabilities to assess, intake, and use data. Additionally, they will collaborate with internal clients and the leadership team to further understand business needs and identify new solutions which requires the ability to understand and communicate with the business side.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
NEED to in the following states: California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Indiana, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C.
* 5+ years' experience data science and analytics
* 5+ years working with statistical tools and concepts, relational database architecture and experimental design (Python and SQL to query)
* Python, SAS, and NLP experience
* SQL and statistical package experience
* Programming experience - ability to write code in Python, R or Java
* Data visualization package experience (Power BI preferred)
* Relational Database -DB2, Informics, PostresQL, and/or Oracle database
* Data Modeling experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
* Master's degree
* Consulting background with a lot of data scientist exp -- any Big 4 Consulting Firms
* Previous exp with larger database platforms (1.5 million individuals with 20-30 million rows of data is the size of the current database)
* Machine learning models and technique exp with Python libraries - in the context of modeling things
* Experience with SQL in the extraction and manipulation of datasets
* General knowledge of transactional data processing, ETL, data warehouse, data mart, and operational reporting solutions
* SAS experience
