Job Description

Kemper is building a first in class Transformation Team to support this strategic intent. This role is a great opportunity for the right person who wants to be part of building a new team in a dynamic growing company. We are looking for the person who can help us make a difference by best serving the needs of our customers. They will be designing and implementing operating models that enable a business strategy by integrating processes, organization, and technology components. Develop implementation roadmaps and lead initiatives to translate the concepts into reality.

Identify, design, and implement functional and business transformation opportunities including centralization, process improvement, organizational restructuring, and digital models

Focus on increasing revenues, decreasing cost, optimizing operations, and improving margins in service of driving growth

Lead the implementation of new capabilities, processes, and organizational structures

o Future state definition, operating model design, and implementation

o Process (re)design and implementation

o Business direction for IT enablement

o Establish MI / data analytics / data science support

o Organizational design, including management structures, skill sets, and staffing models

o Rollout of new organization, including staff realignments and coordination of hiring efforts

o Communications and change management, including training design and rollout

Provide program management support to transformation initiatives

o Establishment of long-term roadmaps and sequencing of individual projects

o Support for day-to-day project team decision-making, including executive escalations

o Identification and planning for necessary business resources

o Coordination of rollouts

o Collaborative partnership with external vendors

Combination of direct management and hands-on delivery; expected to implement and oversee the quality of deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

5-7 years of experience in management consulting, preferably with focus in transformation, operations improvement, or business process reengineering

Experience leading project teams in the development and implementation of strategic projects

Track record of success in operationalizing business strategies, transforming value chain functions, and/or driving cost reduction and growth initiatives

Experience developing and implementing a comprehensive Target Operating Model that incorporates process, organization, and technology improvements

Experience working with senior executives to develop, define and execute growth or cost reduction strategies at the LOB level

Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of large and complex sets of operational and financial data from multiple sources

Ability to work independently or manage parts of larger projects

Desired Skills

Experience in insurance industry

Experience with analytics to evaluate and optimize business processes

Ability to travel up to 25% once non-essential travel is normalized

Lean, process improvement, or related certifications a plus.
