Job Description
Day to day:
We are looking for someone to help with data architecture at a large healthcare company. This organization has a big ODS/Data store, and this person will need to figure out if it is structured appropriately/correctly for the needs of the organization. The ideal person for this role, can read the query plan, see if there are any suggested indexes, make sure it touches all of the bases in terms of standards and will work closely with the Development team. Important information pertinent to this role, includes your history of types of databases built (high volume OLTP) and the ability to recognize data patterns and how it needs to be broken up to accommodate transactional volume. SQL Server experience, Azure experience and high volume OLTP/performance engineering experience, is imperative to the role.

Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years experience within Data Architecture (Engineering background is ok as long as architecture responsibilities were a large part of their background)
* Experience architecting, documenting and implementing fault tolerant, scalable, and resilient data architectures
* Heavily oriented toward high volume OLTP and performance engineering in a relational environment.
* Experience setting and driving platform data strategies
* SQL Server (Store Procedures, Tables, Indexes, etc.) experience
* Azure SQL Database and Azure Cosmos DB experience
* Experience working closely with development teams
* Experience modeling and diagraming complex technology solutions
* The ability to analyze, refactor, and evolve existing systems with minimal disruption or impact to business and client partners
* Experience applying proven data flow, replication, and reconciliation patterns across various data use domains
* The ability to establish and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and standards
* The ability to work closely with development teams to align data and code solutions
* Proven work experience in a data architecture role
* Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
* Experience troubleshooting performance and scalability issues related to data architecture
* Experience developing and implementing data retention policies and archival practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Health Care System Experience (prior authorization and claims processing)
* Experience in HIPAA environments
* Experience with data architectures and designs supporting micro services
* Experience with various data modeling tools
* SharePoint /MS Teams
* Ability to work with minimal oversite or management
