Job Description

Insight Globals client in Boise, ID, is looking for a Legal Assistant for a general litigation firm. The legal assistant is responsible for providing a broad range of legal administrative support utilizing knowledge in legal terminology, procedures, and document preparation. This position supports three attorneys. The legal assistant must be versed in both federal and state court procedures and filing requirements, including electronic filing in various jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

Manage attorney/paralegal calendars, including deadlines, appointments, and reminders.
Arrange meetings, travel, and conferencing needs, and keep the team informed of important dates.
Organize and maintain client files, both electronic and paper.
Transcribe, draft, revise, and proofread various legal documents.
Ensure accuracy of all work products, including those created by others.
Provide backup support during absences and prioritize work assignments effectively.
Act as a liaison between attorneys/paralegals and clients, delivering exceptional client services.
File documents electronically with courts and retrieve necessary court documentation.
Manage CLE and other professional association files, including registrations and tracking credits.
Review client billing guidelines, assist with invoice review, and submit vendor invoices for payment.
Prepare hearing, deposition, and trial materials, and assist with trial preparation.
Process incoming and outgoing mail for attorneys/paralegals.
Assist with opening and closing files, tracking statistics as requested.
Maintain confidentiality, work proactively, and ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
Assist with training and mentoring co-workers and new employees.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, even in high-stress situations.

Required Skills & Experience

Calendar management
Proficiency with document management systems (e.g., NetDocs)
Experience drafting various types of legal documents
Comfortable sending out legal letters with proper formatting
Filing documents electronically with state and federal courts
Ability to be a team player and integrate well with the team
Experience creating medical chronologies
