Under general supervision, provides professional public health nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters / emergencies and biological
and chemical protocols. Vaccine administration and management for all age groups, child health screenings for school entry, and
lab services as indicated including phlebotomy and pregnancy testing. Serve as back-up to Travel Clinic by assessing the need for
malaria prophylaxis and follows protocol and CDC recommendations. Counsel clients on other risks they may encounter when
traveling. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of children seen at the clinic.
