Under general supervision, provides professional public nursing services in accordance with Georgia State Nursing Protocols.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Screening and assessing low-income prenatal women for services
* Conducting perinatal psycho-social needs assessment
* Taking vitals
* Preparing care plans for the patients
* Educating and referring pregnant women to public and community agencies for resources
* Working with public health officials to help underserved communities gain access to care
* Skills: will be trained, expanded role nurses (physicals, order studies/labs, decision treatments)
All taught from nurse protocols - not relying on MD orders
* May have to participate in community outreach occasionally (reimburse 69 cents a mile)
