Our client is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support electric distribution system reliability, protection coordination, and grid modernization initiatives. This position will be responsible for performing advanced power system analyses, developing and maintaining circuit models, conducting coordination studies, and providing technical quality control of engineering deliverables.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with distribution system modeling, protection coordination, Time Current Coordination (TCC) analysis, load flow studies, and engineering QA/QC reviews utilizing tools such as Synergi Electric, CYME, and CYMTCC.
This role requires a highly analytical engineer who can both perform technical studies and review the work of others to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with utility standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain electric distribution system models using utility engineering software.
Perform circuit modeling and system analysis utilizing Synergi Electric, CYME, or similar platforms.
Conduct protection coordination studies for distribution feeders and circuits.
Develop and analyze Time Current Coordination (TCC) curves using CYMTCC.
Perform load flow analysis to evaluate feeder loading, voltage performance, and system constraints.
Conduct fault current studies and analyze system performance under normal and contingency conditions.
Evaluate and coordinate protective devices including reclosers, sectionalizers, breakers, fuses, and relays.
Support feeder reconfiguration, voltage optimization, capacity planning, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Analyze system reliability metrics and recommend operational and infrastructure improvements.
Collaborate with distribution planning, operations, engineering, and field personnel.
