Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Process Engineer for a leading packaging manufacturing organization. This individual will be responsible for optimizing molded fiber manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading quality-focused production efforts. The engineer will partner closely with operations, production leadership, technicians, and plant management to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, hands-on process engineering experience, supervisory leadership capabilities, and expertise in pulp/fiber processing environments. This role offers significant visibility within plant operations and the opportunity to make a direct impact on production efficiency, quality performance, and safety initiatives. Responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times, improve quality, increase throughput, and reduce scrap
Troubleshoot manufacturing and processing issues
Develop and maintain engineering and process documentation
Establish machine setup and processing parameters
Create standardized molding procedures across all shifts
Monitor production efficiencies and collaborate with Production Management
Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and process capability studies
Support capital equipment evaluations and justifications
Lead laboratory and process technician teams
Oversee testing procedures and plant quality programs
Respond to internal and external quality concerns
Manage NSF audits and GMP compliance standards
Promote and enforce workplace safety initiatives
Report safety hazards and maintain safety compliance
Perform additional engineering and operational duties as assigned
130-150k Salary

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of manufacturing experience in a production environment
3+ years of leadership or direct supervisory experience in manufacturing
Continuous Improvement experience
SPC / GainSeeker experience
Management and supervisory background
Proven process optimization and troubleshooting experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced knowledge of pulp and fiber processes and tooling
Experience with process documentation (PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, specifications)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Microsoft Office proficiency
PI Systems experience (digital EOT systems)
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred)
