Lead Software Engineer

A fortune 500 Insight Global retail client is looking for talented lead and senior software engineers to join their team. This team is expected to specifically work on incoming requests from the clients private label credit card vendor - related to Account Management flows within the Front-End Point of Sale Systems. An engineer may be selected to work as part of an adjacent feature team, focused on payment acceptance within the Store Checkout environment.
· Project Related Agile Team Ceremonies: Actively participate in standup, weekly story refinements, iteration planning meetings, retrospectives
§ Closely working with UX and PM to understand and define problem statements, metrics on proposed value for incoming asks
§ Effectively work as part of a team to develop roadmaps, working agreements, ways of working to ensure on-time delivery of requested features
· Engineering Tasks: Majority of time will involve AI-first development - using spec driven design framework to bring well-defined requirements to life in the various point of sale codebases
§ Included expectations in development will be to perform extensive testing - unit, integration, UAT, etc. upon feature completion
· Production Support: Smaller percentage of time will be focused on support for features making it into the production environment - updating dashboards/alerting for new features; ensuring application health remains steady after production deployments; support in any related incident calls or triage sessions if necessary

Compensation:
$60/hr to $80/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

· Expertise with AI-first development, specifically Spec Driven Development
· Heavy experience working in retail
○ Frontend/Point of Sale and Payment experience is a huge plus

· Expertise in automation testing best-practices and toolings
Expertise is defining success metrics, building dashboards (preferably experience with Grafana) for observability

· Experience with OpenSpec
· Front-end/Point of Sale and Payment experience is a huge plus
· Any experience with Oracle 360 commerce framework
· GKE experience
Experience working with monorepos
