Required Skills & Experience

• End-to-end ownership of assigned branch conversions, including discovery, data review, conversion development, validation support, issue resolution, and go-live readiness. This person should be able to manage their assigned conversions without needing every next step assigned to them.
• Ability to lead data discovery with branch teams, including asking what systems they use, what data needs to be converted, where the data lives, what processes may be unique to the branch, and what risks or gaps may exist before extraction begins.
• Ability to coordinate with the data extraction team and branch contacts to ensure the correct data is received, the extracts are complete, and any missing tables, fields, or files are identified and followed up on quickly.
• Strong SQL skills, especially joins, temp tables, CASE logic, data cleanup, de-duplication, mapping logic, source-to-target transformations, and converting messy legacy data into the required ERP import format.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivots, formulas, validation files, issue tracking, branch review files, reconciliation support, and creative cleanup worksheets when SQL alone is not the best solution.
• Experience working with ERP data conversions, data migration, system implementations, or messy business data, preferably where the candidate had to interpret source data and decide how it should fit into a new system.
• Ability to understand and work with business data across multiple areas, including customers, locations/sites, equipment/assets, recurring billing, contracts, open AR, jobs, items, vendors, pricing, contacts, and legacy system IDs.
• Ability to identify data gaps, quality issues, and conversion risks, such as missing fields, duplicate records, inconsistent customer/location relationships, incomplete billing data, bad formatting, or data that does not clearly fit the new ERP structure.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability. The candidate should be comfortable making reasonable conversion decisions, documenting assumptions, proposing practical solutions, and escalating only when a decision truly requires leadership or business approval.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users. This person needs to ask branch users clear questions, explain data issues in understandable terms, collect validation feedback, and help determine whether an issue is a true conversion defect, source data issue, or operational decision.
• Ability to work through branch validation feedback independently, including reviewing reported issues, tracing them back to the source data or conversion logic, creating SQL or Excel solutions, and clearly communicating what was corrected or why something should remain as-is.
• Strong organization and workload management, especially while managing multiple branch conversions, deadlines, validation cycles, data requests, and go-live timelines at the same time.
• High ownership mindset. The ideal candidate should not wait to be told every next step. They should actively drive their assigned conversions forward, follow up on blockers, keep stakeholders informed, and take responsibility for the quality and readiness of their conversion files.
• Practical business judgment. This role requires someone who understands that the goal is not just technically clean data, but usable data in the new ERP that supports branch operations after go-live.
• A strong candidate is not just a SQL developer. They need to be part data analyst, part problem solver, part project owner, and part business translator. The person should be comfortable working with imperfect legacy data, asking the right questions, making practical conversion decisions, and finding creative SQL or Excel-based solutions when the data does not fit cleanly into the new ERP.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
