Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for a top logistics and supply chain client. This candidate will act as a critical second-in-command within a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment operating 24/7. The ideal individual is both strategic and hands-on, capable of leading large teams while also diving into day-to-day operations as needed. This role will support multiple functional areas including transportation logistics, certified screening, and receiving, ensuring seamless coordination across departments. The right candidate is a strong people leader who thrives in dynamic environments, fosters accountability, and drives continuous improvement while partnering closely with senior leadership to optimize overall warehouse performance.

Serve as the #2 leader supporting a busy Warehouse Manager across a 24/7 operation
Oversee daily operations across four distinct warehouse departments
Manage workflows within a transportation warehouse environment with constant movement and prioritization
Support operations within a Certified Screening Facility and dedicated receiving teams
Drive team culture, engagement, and accountability across a team of ~75 employees
Ensure efficient execution of shipping, receiving, and inventory processes
Provide hands-on operational support when needed (equipment operation, floor presence)
Identify process improvements and implement strategic and technical solutions
Partner with leadership to ensure operational excellence and KPI adherence
Act as a point of escalation for personnel and operational challenges

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management

Proven experience as a lead or supervisor overseeing large teams (~75+ employees)
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Experience operating Crown equipment
Forklift certification required (can be recently expired but must be proficient)

Hands-on experience with reach truck operations
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to motivate, coach, and build team accountability

Demonstrated ability to act as a business partner and support leadership

Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in a 3PL (third-party logistics) environment

Military service background

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
