Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Warehouse Lead / Warehouse Associate for a top logistics client. This individual will serve as a hands-on leader within a distribution center, helping to direct daily warehouse operations while working alongside the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is not yet looking for full management responsibility but wants to grow into a leadership role. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating equipment such as forklifts, has strong attention to detail, and can support inventory control while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role will oversee a small team, helping to guide workflow, maintain efficiency, and foster a productive and safe warehouse environment.
Day-to-Day:
- Direct and coordinate daily workflow for a team of ~7 warehouse associates
- Assist with inbound/outbound shipments, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping
- Operate forklift and assist with material handling as needed
- Monitor inventory levels and support cycle counts to ensure accuracy
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse space
- Ensure team follows safety procedures and operational standards
- Serve as a point of contact on the floor to troubleshoot issues and keep operations moving efficiently
- Provide guidance and training to associates while developing leadership skills

Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ year of leadership or lead experience (directing daily work vs. formal management)
- Forklift operation experience/certification (OK if recently expired)
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Inventory control experience (cycle counts, tracking, accuracy)
- Comfortable overseeing and directing a team of ~7 warehouse associates
- Ability to work hands-on in a warehouse setting
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in a distribution center
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
- Proven track record of growing into leadership roles
- Safety training or OSHA knowledge
