Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Lead Developer with proven experience migrating solutions from Power BI Fixed Capacity to Microsoft Fabric. This individual will play a critical role in optimizing, modernizing, and leading data analytics solutions while driving performance improvements at scale.
This is an urgent requirement, and the ideal candidate will be able to step in immediately and lead delivery efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Lead the migration of Power BI solutions from Fixed Capacity environments to Microsoft Fabric
Design, build, and optimize data models, semantic layers, and reporting solutions
Drive performance tuning initiatives across Power BI datasets and Fabric workloads
Analyze and optimize DAX formulas and query execution plans for improved performance
Recommend and implement enhancements to:

Data cardinality
Data types
Grouping and sorting strategies


Optimize VertiPaq engine performance including segmentation and compression techniques
Implement Direct Lake partitioning strategies to improve query and refresh performance
Manage in-memory and disk caching strategies to ensure efficient data access
Apply best practices for cold, warm, and hot cache querying
Optimize Parquet file formats and data structures for Fabric consumption
Leverage Microsoft Fabric background processes, including:

Data compaction
Storage optimization


Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts
Lead and coordinate an offshore delivery team, ensuring high-quality output within tight timelines

Required Skills & Experience

-Proven experience with Power BI development and architecture, including enterprise-scale deployments
-Hands-on experience migrating to or working within Microsoft Fabric
Expertise in DAX development and data modeling, SQL (advanced querying and performance tuning), and Python (data processing, scripting, or automation)
-Tabular modeling and semantic layer design
-Power BI Service, Premium Capacity, and Fabric architecture
-Demonstrated experience in performance tuning and optimization techniques
-Experience with VertiPaq engine internals and storage optimization
