Job Description

We’re hiring a Data Solutions Architect/Technical Chief of Staff to join a high-performing team working within one of the largest and most complex data ecosystems in the world.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, architecture, and business strategy—ideal for someone who enjoys both technical design and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll play a key role in shaping how data flows, scales, and drives decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Do
This is a hybrid role (~50% business-facing, 50% technical design) where you will:
Architecture & Solution Design
• Design and evolve large-scale data architectures, pipelines, and data products
• Evaluate tradeoffs across different approaches (performance, cost, scalability)
• Identify risks and gaps across systems (e.g., data flow, ingestion, transformations, distribution layers)
• Contribute to architectural strategy across modern cloud data platforms (BigQuery ecosystem)
Data Engineering & Technical Ownership
• Work across full end-to-end data lifecycle (source → transformation → target)
• Build and optimize datasets with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure high-quality data pipelines and models

Stakeholder Engagement (Critical)
• Collaborate directly with product, analytics, and business stakeholders
• Translate business needs into scalable data solutions
• Clearly communicate technical conepts to non-technical audiences

Why This Role is Unique
• High-impact ownership: Work on systems that directly influence business decisions at scale
• Modern engineering culture: Exposure to AI-assisted development and emerging agentic workflows
• Autonomy & influence: Drive design decisions—not just execute tickets
• Cross-functional visibility: Strong partnership with business + product teams
• Clear growth path: Progress into Principal Architect or Engineering Manager roles

• Experience building end-to-end datasets and pipelines (source to target)
• Solid understanding of data modeling, transformations, and system design
• Experience with cloud data platforms (BigQuery / GCP preferred, but not required)
• Ability to think in systems, not just tools (understanding tradeoffs and architecture decisions)

Problem Solving & Mindset
• Strong ability to break down ambiguous problems and drive solutions
• Curiosity to explore “why” and “what’s next”—not just execute tasks
• Comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments

Communication & Collaboration
• Excellent communication skills (technical + non-technical audiences)
• Experience working directly with stakeholders and driving alignment
• Ability to influence without formal authority

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
