Job Description
We are seeking a Lead AtScale Developer to own and evolve our semantic layer on Snowflake, enabling governed, consistent metrics and high‑performance analytics across BI and analytics tools. This is a hands-on lead role requiring deep expertise in AtScale, SQL, data modeling, and close collaboration with data engineering and analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and ongoing management of AtScale semantic models and cubes in a production environment
• Serve as the technical owner of the semantic layer, setting standards, best practices, and modeling patterns for the team
• Design and maintain business-friendly data models (facts, dimensions, hierarchies, KPIs) on top of Snowflake datasets
• Ensure consistent, governed metric definitions used across all BI and analytics tools
• Design, optimize, and maintain AtScale virtual cubes, ensuring performance, scalability, and accuracy
• Partner with data engineering teams on dimensional modeling and underlying table design (star/snowflake schemas, grain, conformed dimensions)
• Tune and optimize SQL and Snowflake performance, including query behavior, compute usage, and concurrency
• Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and metric discrepancies across reporting tools
• Lead code reviews, documentation, testing practices, and controlled deployment of semantic layer changes
• Mentor junior developers and analysts supporting AtScale and the semantic layer
• Collaborate with analytics engineering teams leveraging dbt (nice to have) for alignment between transformation models and semantic logic
Pay Rate: $9.00-$13.00 an hour depending on skills and expeirence

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of hands-on AtScale experience, including leadership or lead engineer responsibilities
• Strong experience working with Snowflake as the underlying data platform
• Advanced SQL skills (complex queries, window functions, optimization)
• Strong data modeling background (dimensional modeling, metrics, grain, KPIs)
• Experience translating business requirements into governed, reusable semantic models
• Ability to lead technical design decisions and mentor team members
• dbt experience is a plus, but not required
