Job Description
The Store Planning Lead oversees both the daily production workflow and the performance of a team of Store Planners supporting ongoing retail remodel projects. This role blends hands on project oversight with people leadership to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of all design outputs.
Daily Operations & Production
• Work on assigned remodel plans in AutoCAD, using project requirements and Excel data to produce accurate layouts.
• Manage 20–25 active projects alongside the team, ensuring all drawings meet client standards and timelines.
• Review incoming requirements from PMs and prioritize work for both yourself and the team.
Team Leadership & Support
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide real time guidance to Store Planners.
• Conduct quick quality checks on team drawings before final review and publishing.
• Coach team members on AutoCAD techniques, design standards, and workflow expectations.
Quality & Workflow Management
• Ensure all projects follow the established intake → drafting → review → publishing process.
• Identify bottlenecks or recurring issues and adjust workflows or provide coaching as needed.
• Track daily production metrics and communicate risks or delays early.
Communication & Coordination
• Serve as the day to day liaison between the Store Planning team and project leadership.
• Share updates, clarify requirements, and align on priorities with PMs and Managers.

Required Skills & Experience
• Leadership experience
• AutoCAD design experience in Store Planning environment
o Taking project plans/requirements and turning them into floorplans
o Working with PM and Managers on redlining drafts, working with in parameters of project specs
• Experience with Merchandise/ Product Sets in the retail environment
o Design/ draft to increase sales, maximize inventory turns, ensure product display
o Floor plan strategy
• Excel, MS office
