Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a collaborative team for a 6 month contract to hire model with an expectation of 5 days on-site in Brookhaven, GA. The position is with a leading infrastructure construction and engineering firm in North America, known for its expertise in designing and building critical infrastructure such as highways, bridges, rail systems, dams, aviation facilities, and water management project. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, and testing software programs and applications, with ongoing research and modification of software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The position works closely with all departments across the business, collaborating with developers, programmers, designers, network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to conceptualize new solutions and resolve system or software issues. Responsibilities include assessing existing business systems and procedures, documenting business requirements and technical specifications, and developing software project plans covering scope, scheduling, and implementation. The role involves writing and translating code according to specifications, designing and executing performance tests, debugging issues, and enhancing application functionality through scripts and updates. Additional duties include maintaining user manuals, analyzing test results, training end users, installing software, generating reports on development progress, researching emerging technologies, coordinating with vendors, recommending and implementing system upgrades, and providing leadership and guidance to junior team members. The ideal candidate is flexible, comfortable working in a remote environment, and able to collaborate effectively with a team manager based in Colorado. Targeting $45 an hour!

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field required.
4+ years related experience required.
Experience with Python, Spark, and other data processing frameworks preferred
Advanced knowledge of current IT technologies, desktop hardware, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products required.
Specialized Skills: T-SQL, Python, Power BI, Database Administration, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) preferred.
