Job Description
This role owns the daily operation, performance, and reliability of a cloud hosted Teradata Vantage database supporting critical financial and regulatory reporting. The DBA monitors performance, tunes SQL, manages workloads, oversees data movement, supports ETL integrations, and partners with vendors, cloud, security, and analytics teams. The environment runs in Azure with vendor managed infrastructure, so the focus stays on database behavior, data accuracy, automation, compliance, and audit readiness rather than server administration.
Please note that this role is a 6 month contract to hire with the expectation this person will convert full time. The expected annual pay range is approximately $120,000 to $160,000/yr. Compensation is subject to change based on experience, location, internal equity, and business needs.

Required Skills & Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of enterprise Teradata DBA experience. (not all within Azure)
• Deep expertise in Teradata Vantage administration and SQL performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Teradata Data Mover and Teradata utilities (TPT, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPump, BTEQ).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services and cloud integration concepts.
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation and operational tooling.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and Bash scripting.
• Experience supporting enterprise ETL pipelines.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server integration concepts.
• Experience working in regulated IT environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related work experience.
• 10+ years progressive enterprise data platform experience.
• Experience supporting Teradata in a vendor-managed Azure environment.
• Experience supporting SOX, PCI, GLBA audits.
• Teradata and/or Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience designing reusable Python automation frameworks.
• Experience contributing to platform modernization initiatives.
• Financial services, banking, or credit union experience (or other regulated industries)
