Job Description

We are seeking an Accountant with operations experience to bring accounting inhouse from an outside firm and to build and manage best practices within our order management and customer service team. This role places a strong emphasis on financial oversight, including bookkeeping and compliance with U.S. accounting practices, while also managing a small team responsible for order processing, purchasing and customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership
Oversee day-to-day financial operations related to order processing, invoicing, and payment tracking.
Ensure compliance with U.S. bookkeeping standards and internal financial controls.
Collaborate with global finance teams to align reporting and reconciliation practices.
Prepare financial summaries and assist with audits and month-end closing activities.
Manage expense coding, invoice matching, and vendor payment workflows (Manage full p2p process).

Team Management
Lead and mentor the Order Entry, purchasing and Customer Service team.
Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and support professional development.
Coordinate workload distribution and ensure timely order fulfillment and customer response.

Operational Oversight
Supervise order entry accuracy and ERP/CRM system usage (e.g., HubSpot).
Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure high service standards.
Maintain and improve internal processes for order tracking and client communication.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
5+ years of experience in financial operations, preferably in a customer-facing environment.
Strong knowledge of U.S. bookkeeping and accounting practices.
Proven leadership experience in team management or supervisory roles.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM platforms.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in distribution, manufacturing or lighting controls industry is a plus.
