Job Description

A leading home improvement retailer is seeking a Delivery Manager / SDLC Project Manager to join its IT organization, supporting applications that enhance the customer experience for commercial builders. These applications enable sales representatives to proactively plan and schedule order deliveries for large-scale construction projects.

The Delivery Manager will play a key role in standardizing project processes and documentation across the team, driving user adoption, and ensuring successful delivery of initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with leadership to define best practices and lead efforts from planning through roll out.

Key Responsibilities:
Process & Documentation Standardization
Define and implement standards for project artifacts including:
Requirements
Technical Design Documentation
Level of Effort Estimates
Project Plans
Establish tools and storage locations for all documentation.
Project Governance & Decision Management
Develop guidelines for Key Design Documents (KDDs) and project decisions.
Define decision types and usage criteria.
Establish roles for consultation and sign-off.
Standardize format, tools, and storage protocols.
Communication Strategy
Create a structured communication plan tailored to various user groups.
Identify communication types, target personas, and required content.
Examples include bi-weekly acceleration meetings and weekly project updates.
Define format, tools, and storage location for each communication type.
Role Clarity & RASCI Development
Define roles and responsibilities across key project personas:
Product
UX
Engineering Principals
Delivery Manager
Operations
Business Partners
Develop a RASCI matrix aligned with the 5D Model to ensure accountability and clarity.
User Adoption & Engagement
Lead efforts to drive adoption of standardized processes and tools.
Train existing team members on new procedures and documentation standards.

$55/hr to $62/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years in a Delivery Manager or SDLC Project Manager within an enterprise IT organization.
Strong background in managing application development projects in an Agile environment
Experience supporting large-scale project delivery and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to standardize project artifacts, including:
Requirements documentation
Technical design documents
Level of effort estimates
Project plans
Familiarity with tools and platforms used for document storage and collaboration (confluence and smartsheets)
Experience developing and managing Key Design Documents (KDDs) and project decision frameworks.
Ability to define decision types, usage criteria, and roles for consultation and sign-off.
Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different user groups.
Experience creating and managing status reporting frameworks, including cadence, format, and audience targeting.
Comfortable leading meetings such as bi-weekly acceleration sessions and weekly project updates.
Experience in training and onboarding team members on new processes, tools, and documentation standards.
Ability to drive user adoption and engagement across technical and non-technical teams.
Familiarity with RASCI matrices and defining roles/responsibilities across diverse project personas (Product, UX, Engineering, Operations, etc.).
Understanding of the 5D Model and its application in delivery frameworks.
