Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineer with 25 years of experience in power distribution design to join our growing team in Southern Georgia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about delivering reliable and efficient power solutions to communities.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field assessments and site visits to gather data for overhead and underground power distribution design.
Develop and review engineering designs, layouts, and construction drawings using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS).
Collaborate with project managers, utility clients, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and utility standards.
Support permitting processes and coordinate with local authorities as needed.
Troubleshoot field issues and provide technical guidance during construction phases.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of field activities and design changes.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
25 years of experience in power distribution design (overhead and/or underground).
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS-based tools.
Strong understanding of NESC, NEC, and utility-specific standards.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within the Southern Georgia region.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working with electric utility companies or engineering consulting firms.
Familiarity with permitting and right-of-way acquisition processes.
EIT or PE certification is a plus.
