Insight Global's client is a fast-paced, busy civil litigation firm based in SF. We are looking for an experienced, highly organized legal assistant supporting 3-4 attorneys for their team.
Candidate should be proficient, efficient, and well-versed with various applications, including but not limited to, advanced MS Word/ Outlook/ Excel/ Access/ PowerPoint skills with TOCs/TOAs in native WORD and Thomson Reuters Drafting Assistant; including; Legal Solutions/ iManage/ CompuLaw/ NextCloud, cloud-based DMS applications, as well as (Windows 11 Pro); DocuSign/Dropbox; and Adobe Acrobat Pro/OCR/ software with advanced features, i.e. bates-stamped/redaction/searchable/bookmark/reduced-sizing/page-numbering/e-sign, etc.
Candidate will be required to proofread, format, and assemble legal documents, including but not limited to, pleadings, contracts, legal memoranda, reports, letter opinions, briefs, court statements, and forms. Candidate will produce a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, discovery shells, and other documents. Prepare for e-filings/e-servings, in Federal–State courts, using NextGen–PACER, File&Serve Xpress, One Legal, etc. Prepare and execute TOCs/TOAs via MS Word/Best Authority/Westlaw Drafting Assistant for MPAs, per local rules. Prepare PDF documents by redacting, bates-stamping, editing, importing e-signature stamps, compressing/reducing size, and bookmarking via zip folders, and links in Dropbox, OneDrive, NextCloud, etc. Calendar hearings via court call/court’s Zoom links; scheduling depositions, scheduling court reporters/translators; subpoenas for medical/ employment records. Saving/updating/drafting master caption–proof of service in the firm’s DMS. Pulling documents from various court dockets. Creating discovery shells (both responsive and propounding).
Assistant will assume responsibility for general secretarial assistance, including, but not limited to, reviewing and routing incoming correspondence and other legal materials, making appointments, screening and routing telephone calls, making reservations for meetings, making copies, and compiling complex documentation.
Must be familiar with civil procedure and office procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

- Both plaintiff and defense experience
- Civil procedure understanding
- State and federal filings
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in insurance defense, habitability, personal injury, next best would be labor employment or construction
- Appellate filings
- iManage or cloud based online management system
- One legal, File and Serve Express, any filing websites, Express Networks, Westlaw, Coyote billing system
