Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer or a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is
passionate about delivering high-quality software and building robust, maintainable automation
frameworks. As part of an operational engineering team in a large enterprise environment, you will
play a critical role in strengthening our test automation strategy across both UI and API layers.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has a strong background in software development using
Node.js and a deep commitment to software quality. Youll be responsible for designing and
maintaining test frameworks using Cucumber, WebdriverIO or Puppeteer, and ensuring reliable API
coverage with tools like Chai and Assert. You will play a key role in ensuring product quality by
building reusable frameworks, integrating them into the CI/CD pipelines, and writing maintainable
automated test suites.

Key Responsibilities
Design and build test automation frameworks from the ground up using Node.js,
Cucumber, and WebdriverIO/Puppeteer.
Develop API test automation suites using Node.js, Cucumber, and assertion libraries like
Chai or Nodes built-in assert.
Implement and maintain test scenarios covering both UI and backend services.
Develop scripts for operation engineering team to aid with impact analysis and remediation
process.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA to ensure test coverage
and quality standards.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve test reliability and
performance.
Perform code reviews and maintain high standards for test code quality, structure, and
reusability.
Apart from automation tasks, you will be aiding operations engineering team to triage
issues, perform impact analysis, monitor system health, and remediate policy/order-related failures efficiently

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of experience in building test automation frameworks or software development.
Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js and BDD tools like Cucumber.
Experience automating UI tests using WebdriverIO or Puppeteer.
Solid experience in REST API automation with tools like Axios, Supertest, or node-fetch.
Proficiency with assertion libraries such as Chai, Nodes assert, or similar.
Experience building internal tools, automation scripts, and operational dashboards.
Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and backend architecture principles to design
and develop effective internal tools and operational workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub
Actions etc.
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for quality engineering.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working in enterprise software, especially within insurance, finance, or
regulated industries.
Exposure to monitoring/observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Grafana.
Experience building/working with different automation frameworks.
Comfortable working in environments with legacy systems and modern cloud-based
services
