We are seeking a Power Engineering Technologist Level 2 or 3 with experience in electric distribution design or construction line work to support field operations and staking activities. The role involves collecting field data and using platforms like RUS Spec, Specbooks, Partner, and Futura to support distribution design projects. Ideal candidates may come from a construction line work background and are looking to grow into technical or engineering support roles. We expect about 50% site travel for this role.

Conduct field staking, measurements, and data collection for electric distribution systems
Apply RUS construction standards and utility guidelines to support design and planning
Use Specbooks, Partner, and Futura software for digital mapping and project documentation
Communicate with engineers, landowners, and contractors to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals
Analyze field conditions, right-of-way requirements, and site access limitations
Maintain records of field work, including staking sheets, material lists, and site reports
Follow NESC and safety protocols, representing the company professionally in the field
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Technical degree preferred
5+ years of experience in utility construction, staking, or field design
Strong foundation in distribution line construction practices
Familiarity with RUS standards and distribution system components
Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Experience with mapping and design tools such as NISC, Futura, and Partner
Prior experience working in rural utility environments or on electric cooperative systems
