Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for our client, a real estate development and property management company in Nashville, TN. This person will join a 3-person team, reporting directly to the Controller. He/She will be responsible for preparing journal entries, accounts receivable, reconciling bank accounts, preparing financial statements and month end close. This is a permanent/direct-hire role, in-office 5 days a week.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Prepares journal entries and maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and amortization/depreciations, to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger reliability
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties
- Manages invoice processes; generating customer invoices and reviewing for accuracy
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly books
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements and profit and loss statements
- Maintains and monitors Daily and Weekly revenue tracking from multiple sources
- Prepares and provides management with parking and AR reports
- Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
- Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable
- Verifies and completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to appropriate accounts
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents for annual audits
- Assists with yearly cam reconciliations
- Prepares and files tax returns with federal, state and local government agencies
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) standards

Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Must have experience handling intercompany transactions from multiple entities
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Proven track record in managing financial operations for multiple properties or entities simultaneously
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Treasury management experience
- Yardi experience
- Knowledge of construction loans & loan draws
