Job Description

Insight Global is assisting a signal processing and optical telecommunications company in identifying a FPGA Development Engineer for a permanent opening they have in their West Chester, PA office.

Job Responsibilities
• Design of well-structured Verilog/System Verilog code
• Work with PCB designer on transceiver selection, FPGA pinout
• Work hands on in the lab or in simulation to test and validate product features, showing good debug skills, and ability to use lab equipment
• Provide documentation/diagramming of designs as necessary
• Provide technical support to customers, internal and external
• Work as a team with PCB designers, software developers, and other FPGA/ASIC designers to bring up new designs and add features to existing designs

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
• Expertise in Verilog or VHDL, Verilog/System Verilog preferred
• Deep understanding of ASIC/FPGA design flow including RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, prototyping, DFT, timing analysis, and lab debug
• Proficiency with using Vivado or Quartus; knowledge of recent Xilinx/Intel FPGA architectures
• Proficiency using RTL simulation tools, ModelSim/Questa preferred

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Familiarity with industry-standard protocols such as I2C, SPI, JTAG, Ethernet, SDH, OTU, PCIe
- Proven expertise with using 28G or faster transceivers
