Job Description

The UX Design Lead will be a pivotal leader in establishing UX Design as a new domain. They will diagnose the current state, identify challenges and opportunities, and create the strategic direction and priorities for UX Design, with support from the VP of Product. This person will bring strong best practices, including customer research fundamentals and the latest AI tools, to drive efficiency for a small team, and make a significant impact.

Required Skills & Experience

- Communication will be KEY for these folks will be interfacing heavily with US based product and engineering teams/leaders
- For Design Lead- looking for a thought leader:
o Screening question: What UX thought leaders do you follow?
o Thinking about long term UX strategy, true system design. Creating consistency in designs across multiple applications, reusable components, scalability.
- Should have experience with AI tools in UX Screening question: What AI tools have you leveraged in the AI space? How do you stay up to date with AI trends in UX?
o How do we do more product discovery, rapid protypes and user testing using AI
o Lovable was an AI tool they mentioned should be familiar with it.
- Lead should lean more research vs. true UI design:
o Creating personas
o Building protypes
o Customer research
- Tools:
o Figma
o Open to any usability tools to get quick customer feedback
o Screening question: Can you tell me about a time you had the opportunity to choose your own design tools? How did you approach this and make your decisions?
- What they are working on multiple different applications (needs to think about design across all of these):
o Core Meridian ERP System
o Meter Data Management Cloud Solution
o New Field Service Mobile App
o Meridian Mobile App
o Will partner most closely with the product and engineering teams for these products.
- Lead will be 50% thought leadership/management and 50% hands on. Will be providing direction to the 1 current UX contractor they have in Brazil.
