Job Description

Summary:
The Regional Fleet Manager oversees and assists with the management of repair and maintenance of trucks and trailers in the assigned area of responsibility. Authorizes repair/maintenance expenses and minimizes the time the assets are out of service. Works closely with local management and repair shops to maximize equipment uptime while driving operating costs down. They will also work closely with different internal regional, site and area managers on best fleet practices to continuously improve overall efficiencies.

Responsibilities:
Identify and monitor trucks and trailers at facilities to reduce downtime and rental expenses
Train and mentor Site, Area, and Region Managers with best fleet practices
Review and analyze vendor estimates, relationships, and invoices/purchase orders for cost accuracy.
Monitor and analyze all opportunities, key trends, and issues to reduce costs and improve efficiencies
Track Preventative Maintenance compliance within Geotab to ensure all trucks complete scheduled service based on prescribed mileage or time.
Comply with all applicable laws, regulations as well as company policies and procedures in all aspects of the position.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 5 years experience in fleet maintenance policies, procedures, and industry practices
Commercial vehicle/Heavy Duty diesel fleet management experience - specifically managing fleets comprised of terminal tractors, class 7 and 8 tractors as well as trailers.
Must be okay with 25%-30% travel
Experience with Vendor management and ability to build rapport
MS excel experience and analytical mindset
