Job Description

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer for a large Engineering Consulting firm in Macon, GA. This individual will provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. The candidate can also expect to prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and/or industrial sectors. This individual can expect to spend 70% if their time in office (administrative duties, data analysis, drafting proposals, budget evaluations, etc.) and 30% out in the field (conversing with clients, site investigations/inspections, etc.).

Required Skills & Experience

* B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.

* 5+ years experience within the Engineering/Geotechnical space

* P.E.

* Experience handling projects start to finish

* Experience managing multi-project timelines. (sometimes 5-6 projects at a time, other times just 1).

* Experience leading geotechnical investigations, writing proposals/reports, scoping projects, budgeting, scheduling, all stages of planning.

* Valid Drivers License with acceptable violation history

* Able to pass drug and background screening

* Soft skills: will be client facing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Drafting software (AutoCAD)

* gINT, settle 3, other related software.

* Experience working for a consulting firm majority of their career
