Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced GIS QA Analyst with expertise in Smallworld to join our team. As a GIS QA Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes specific to Smallworld GIS data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with industry standards. You will lead a team of GIS analysts, develop and implement quality control procedures tailored to Smallworld applications, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize data quality and usability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Smallworld GIS software, a strong understanding of GIS data modeling and analysis, and proven leadership skills in a quality control environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the GIS quality control team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and consistent data management practices.
2. Develop and implement quality control procedures specific to Smallworld GIS applications, including data validation, error detection, and resolution processes.
3. Oversee the execution of quality control processes to identify and address data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and integrity issues.
4. Collaborate with GIS developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to optimize Smallworld GIS configurations and workflows for data quality.
5. Conduct regular audits and inspections of Smallworld GIS data to assess compliance with standards, specifications, and project requirements.
6. Maintain documentation of quality control procedures, standards, and best practices, and ensure adherence to organizational policies and guidelines.
7. Communicate findings, recommendations, and quality metrics to project teams, management, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in Smallworld GIS technology and quality assurance methodologies.
9. Provide technical expertise and support for data migration, conversion, and integration projects involving Smallworld GIS systems.
10. Mentor and coach junior staff members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and proficiency in Smallworld GIS data management and quality control.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in GIS data management
- Proven experience developing and implementing quality control procedures for Smallworld GIS data.
- Strong understanding of GIS data modeling, topology, and spatial analysis concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a GIS quality control environment.
- Certification in Smallworld GIS technology or related field is a plus.
