An Insight Global client is looking to add a Sr. Technician, Prototype and Process Development to their growing team. This resource will report to the Sr. R&D Machining & Prototyping Lab Manager and will be responsible for assisting with prototype development and testing, EHS related activities, Pilot and Production Line related equipment and processes, and assisting with general technical needs in the Prototype and Pilot Lab spaces.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to operate 3D printing equipment, perform post-processing tasks and complete relevant maintenance activities.
Must be able to operate basic machine shop equipment (Table Saw, Band Saw, Drill Press, Sanders, Radial Arm Saw, Sand Blaster etc.)
Must be able to perform process equipment related electrical and mechanical tasks such as industrial cabinet wiring, mechanical modifications, pneumatic assemblies.
Must be able to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
Must have strong technical skillset related to electrical systems (soldering, wiring, etc.) as well as electromechanical systems (use of tools, pneumatic connections, automation components)
General understanding of prototype development with experience designing/creating prototypes.
Act as a mentor to engineers in the creator space who has need of assistance with technical skills.
Advanced understanding of good laboratory and shop practices
Requires no supervision, excellent at self-training on standardized test methods, protocols, and work instructions. Can self-define work direction from project needs or from colleagues outside of the shop.
Excellent project management skills, setting project / task deadlines, managing technician schedules, machine utilization and appropriately prioritize workload for organization, self, and others.
Excellent attention to detail and accomplishes tasks thoroughly through concern for all areas involved. Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently.
Excellent communication skills, can effectively communicate, interact with, present to, and work with many different people and groups about testing, project work, laboratory capabilities, and technical product information.
Pay Range: $20/hr-23/hr
