Job Description

A Client of Insight Global is looking for a Sr. RF Design engineer to join the Atlanta Engineering Team. This team is a highly experienced group of engineers in Telecommunications, specifically outdoor CATV products. We design both indoor and outdoor telecommunication products that require innovative mechanical enclosures and mechanical accessories. As the R&D RF Hardware Engineer on our team, you will be working with some of the industry's most innovative engineers, to architect and design RF systems in the Cable Access Space.



Job Duties

Design, document, architect, and implement hardware solutions for the Cable Access space.

Simulate RF designs in modeling software, including Monte Carlo analysis.

Write test specifications and test instructions for hardware development and manufacturing.

Write engineering design specification documents for Remote-PHY Devices, RF Nodes, Amplifiers and systems, architectures, and products.

Design Digital to Analog and Analog to Digital systems, including evaluation of new technologies.

Build and test hardware for EVT and DVT development stages.

Mentor junior engineering members in RF design, simulation, and hardware evaluation.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 15+ years of RF Design experience required or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of RF Design experience preferred



5+ years direct experience in developing Broadband RF Amplifiers for the Cable Access Networks space

Broadband RF Amplifier Circuit design, board level design, and optimization

Selection and design of RF broadband amplifiers building blocks, matching networks, equalizers, attenuators, and other associated components

System Simulation for Gain, Distortion, and Noise Figure performance

Extensive experience and comfort level with doing bench level design and optimization

Expert in the use of Network and Spectrum Analyzers

Experience with RF simulation in Genesys RF/Microwave Synthesis and Simulation Software

Experience with RF PCB Design on multilayer PCB's using Altium CAD software or similar SW

High-Speed ADC and DAC design experience is desired

Knowledge of CableLabs DOCSIS 3.1 Specifications is a plus

Familiar with CableLabs CCAP architectures is a plus

Familiar with standard serial interface protocols, including I2C, SPI, USB, RS232 is desired

Ability to work in a tightly integrated functional team of electrical, mechanical, FPGA and software engineers
