A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a GIS Specialist. This individual will be joining the GIS and Asset Data team responsible for creating, collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and validating enterprise asset data within GIS.
* Utilize ArcFM GIS software to accurately model and map natural gas mains, fittings, and related infrastructure
* Collaborate with asbuilt drafters, field teams, and engineering staff to ensure accurate representation of physical assets in the GIS database
* Update and maintain the status and location of critical/emergency assets within the natural gas distribution network
* Align historical records with new installations of gas infrastructure, ensuring that the GIS database reflects the most current and accurate information
* Process improvement, quality control, data creation from spatial and tabular sources, conversion, migration, and maintenance
* Process, prepare, and convert data into GIS from a variety of data formats
* Provide specialized queries, maps, and reports to meet customer requirements/specifications
* Interface with users; document requested/needed changes
* Identify training requirements; create and maintain training and procedural documentation
* Prepare specifications, procedures, manuals, project documents and reports
* Participate in system integration and conversion projects with efforts that lead to desired quality outcomes

* Bachelors in GIS, Geography, Geographic Sciences, Geosciences, Engineering, Resource Mapping, Computer Science, or related field
* 2-5 years of professional level GIS experience supporting a utility (preferably gas)
* Thorough understanding of Esri suite of products
* Working knowledge of geodatabases, georeferencing and spatial and attribute data entry and editing
* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and recommend the best track for data development and processing
* Passionate about leveraging geospatial technology and data-driven solutions
* Ability to quickly learn new skills and abilities with database technologies, data modeling, and scripting
* Ability to function independently and as a team member
* Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities
* Ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision
