Job Description

Day to Day:
The Manager of the Emergency Department has the primary responsibility for overseeing daily patient care operations for this department. This department is composed of 55 total beds, 11 of which are fast track beds, and 6 are behavioral health beds. On average, there are 100-280 visits to the ED a day, around 60,000 annually. The Manager of the Emergency Department is required to frequently apply a set of management principles to the smooth operations of emergency care. Must be capable of independent judgement and decision making in the areas of budget, personnel, patient services, physician relations and administrative or professional programs. They will be working closely with the CNO, CEO, and other senior leadership within the hospital and health system. They will have twenty-four (24) hour accountability for assigned area but has a team of supervisors reporting to them to help delegate tasks and operations.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
Bachelors in Nursing related healthcare field with a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
o Licensure must be active in the state of GA or willing to receive licensure in GA upon an offer
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
o An ideal candidate has experience managing a team of at least 150 full time employees, experience developing leadership teams, and experience developing behavioral health initiatives in a health system or in their community
