Job Description
On behalf of our customer, we are seeking a Senior Java/JavaScript Developer who has prior experience working on a small team wearing many hats, where every person plays a critical role in the success of the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an elite, agile team and to work in a fun environment, where a senior resource can shine. This team's Analytics Department is responsible for development of critical employee performance management applications, including scorecards and coaching.
In this role you will be responsible for everything from technical design to coding, truly end to end. As part of this agile team, there are no specs to code from, rather this team goes from whiteboard to code within a day, and it is critical that you can think on your feet, design from a user perspective, and deliver bug free code the first time. The applications are currently Java and JavaScript and the ability to understand these technologies are critical to your success. The team is currently ramping up a project to convert legacy JavaScript applications to React and Spring Boot and deep knowledge of both would be preferred.
Must be able to work independently and within a team. Must be able to build new features quickly with little hand holding and handle a fast paced and constantly changing environment and requirements. We support the applications we build so we require excellent troubleshooting skills. The successful candidate will have a strong ability to develop within this tech stack, utilize skills daily and great communication skills are also a must.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years HTML and CSS, Bootstrap
5+ years JavaScript (using jQuery, legacy and modern JavaScript)
3+ years of experience with Java and Spring in an enterprise environment.
3+ years of experience in application performance testing and tuning.
Exceptional understanding of GIT
Exceptional Debugging and analytic skills in both the JavaScript and Java domains.
High-level understanding of JavaScript engines and JVMs.
Excellent understanding of closures, scope, execution contexts, and how JavaScript runs in the browser.
Excellent understanding of Spring MVC, AOP, and JDBC Templates
3+ years experience migrating/maintaining legacy Java middleware code/architectures.
Experience migrating legacy JavaScript to modern coding standards.
Experience managing servlet containers and application servers, specifically Tomcat and WebLogic.
5+ Years designing and coding enterprise applications at scale.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or Sciences preferred
