Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Construction Site Safety/Health & Safety Project Manager to work onsite for our client in Atlanta, GA. The Construction Safety PM will work to ensure that the highest standards of construction Health & Safety management are implemented across our sites. In this context and given the scale and nature of the proposed works, we wish to appoint a Construction Safety Specialist to be based on site to support and provide guidance to the Lease Provider (LP) and General Contractor (GC) regarding achieving and maintaining high standards of Health & Safety management across the project.
OLE SPECIFICATION - CONSTRUCTION SAFETY SPECIALIST
* Assist in the education and identification of High-Risk Activities (HRA) to the Lease Provider and construction contractor.
* Assist in the education and monitoring of Collaborative Planning conducted by the Lease Provider and/or construction contractor as it relates to High-Risk Activities identified associated with work activities.
* Monitoring Key safety Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined by the company, Lease Provider and/or construction contractor as related to health and safety.
* Assisting in assessing the health & safety implications of situational and schedule changes as they occur during the project and highlighting potential health and safety issues to the Lease Provider and/or construction contractor.
* Identify and monitor project Health & Safety performance data that can be used to accurately assess the project safety status.
* Stop work and inform appropriate supervision when immediately dangerous to life and health activities are observed or identified.
* Assist in improving existing construction safety management process and culture by a visible on-site presence, and active participation in:
* Health and safety related meetings, calls, briefings, surveys, reviews, and audits
o HRA Meetings
o All-Hands Meetings
o Work Planning & Coordination Meetings
o Energization/Cx Meetings
o Incident Investigations/Review Meetings
* Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site's Health & Safety planning. This includes, but is not limited to:
o HRA safety planning and implementation.
o Assessing compliance with agreed KPIs across all project stages.
o Communications of Health & Safety at all levels.
o Co-ordination of work activities on site.
o Safety training and education.
* High level reviews of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc.
* Review of accidents, incidents, & near-miss reporting, including the evaluation of findings, and monitoring the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
* On-going assessment of the resources provided by contractors to enable implementation of the contractor's safety management program.
* Encouraging, and promoting, Health & Safety initiatives aimed at influencing positive safety behavior on the sites.
* Encouraging, and promoting, contractor participation in structured Health & Safety recognition schemes by recognized bodies.
* Report routinely (i.e. daily, weekly) to company site representative and EHS representative on activities, initiatives, challenges, and control measures.
* The contractor will maintain responsibility for all aspects of safety management on site.
* Conduct on a weekly average, a minimum of 3 daily observation and 1 weekly site inspection report.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years experience in construction project management of data centers or mission critical facilities or equivalent experience.
Bachelors degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related preferred but not mandatory. Skills are more important, technical ability to understand a data center.
Well written, organized resume. Good communicator, technical knowledge, electrical maintenance experience, hands on technical training.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* OSHA -- 10 & 30
* NFPA 70E Training
* Safety certification preferably CSP or CHST.
* Bi-lingual in speaking & writing English and the primary language spoken by the country assigned to.
* Formal education in construction safety, general industry safety, health & safety management, or similar discipline.
* Relevant Health & Safety Membership of recognized organization preferred (e.g. the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH); preferably at chartered status (or recognized equivalent).
