Job Description
The Architect will be responsible for building Windows images and application packages that will be used across the enterprise. This includes building, testing and deploying 3rd-Party patches across the enterprise. Responsibilities also include assisting and supporting other initiatives including SCCM, VDI and Windows 10
1. Building WellStar Clinical and Business images (Windows 10 et al)
* Create expert level documentation with each image
* Create 100% accurate images to be used across the enterprise
2. Workstation environment testing and validation
* Analyzing, building, testing, and deploying software installation packages for the Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems using Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) technology, Novell Zen technologies, etc
3. Desktop Architecture environment maintenance and support
* Administer and manage the workstation operating system Patching/Security update program.
* Assist and coordinate the proper repackaging of both custom developed and vendor supplied applications for standard Windows desktop platforms using both MSI and Novel Application Launcher. This position is responsible for the full desktop operating system image life cycle including: initial image problem research and discovery, contacting vendors and developers for information as required, image development and construction, image testing, deployment, third-level production support, and providing full image documentation and build notes.
* Prepare and deploy desktop images using the WellStar IT distribution systems
* Coordinate and validation application and workstation for interoperability, standards and quality on supported platforms per defined company processes and software packaging and configuration management best practices.
* Analyze, troubleshoot, and correct production image engineering defects
* Build, test and deploy 3rd-Party patches across the enterprise.
2. Actively supports and develops IT policies, procedures and documentation.
* Assists in the creation and maintains standards as they relate to delivery of network services.
* Responsible for documenting changes to environment (i.e. hardware movement, installation, removal, etc.).
* Responsible for maintaining inventory of standard hardware/local software by utilizing the current inventory/database/asset system.
* Validates and maintains technical documentation in conjunction with fellow Field Services Technicians.
* Develop architectural artifacts based on TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, Zachman, and FEAF framework.
4. Enhance professional growth and development through education programs, workshops or other educational opportunities that may be presented. Assists in the training of staff. Keeps abreast of current events.
* Responsible for staying current with system wide IT initiatives thru attendance and/or involvement in all relevant forums.
* Demonstrates the ability to learn and improve troubleshooting skills by actively participating in education programs.
* Attends regular departmental and Towne Hall meetings, and promote/exemplify excellent customer service as aligned with WellStar's Credo and 5 Pillars of Excellence.
* Creates training documentation that is user friendly, detailed and precise.
Required Skills & Experience
10-12 Years of IT experience
5+ Years of Engineering experience
2+ Years of Architecture experience
Experience creating roadmaps and articulating strategic direction via presentations
Experience presenting to executives
Managing desktops across a large enterprise environment
Outstanding customer service skills in a large global enterprise environment
Experience with desktop imaging tools
Enterprise software distribution system knowledge, especially SCCM, Intune, Autopilot, Jamf, Altiris,
Experience with Active Directory (AD)
Strong documentation and organizational skill
Strong Microsoft Windows system administration and troubleshooting skills including deep knowledge of the registry, file system, processes, and security in Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems
Must be able to work well within a technical team, as well as interface well with the Clinical Applications and Business Applications units, Service Desk teams, Field Service support teams, IT developers and analysts, and individual customers from the business user community
