Job Description
- Weekly: sending out reports to the operations team, doing things like route reconciliations, route variances, and warehouse variances
- Monthly: standard journal entries - digging in on financials, PnL (Profit & Loss statements), communicating with operations team on data like why costs are at this price
- Working heavily with operations team (explaining and breaking down financials/data analysis with them)
- Filling in and providing office support when needed: help process payroll, assisting in onboarding when needed, ensure bills are paid on time
- Depends on where they are in the month
Beginning of month: working with admin team to make sure collections & invoicing are good w AR team, closing any disconnects if anyone is having trouble collecting payments, setting up new accounts, etc.
Middle of month: month end entries, ensuring accuracy, doing analyses
End of month: review with corporate, setting 1 on 1s with operations team to help them understand what happened this month w overall performance, game plan to move forward/ be more profitable, etc.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2+ years of experience with general accounting - preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger, AP/AR, etc.
- Strong in Excel (Pivot tables & VLOOKUP's)
- Positive personality and willingness to learn
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related
- Comes from an inventory background (Example: has experience w inventory reconciliations)
