- Under general supervision, provides professional public health nursing services in accordance with Georgia State Nursing Protocols
- Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
o Provide wide range of Public Health Nursing Services specifically focusing on TB: administering TB skin tests, educating patients receiving the skin test on results, assisting with a treatment plan, also conducting TB tests needed for employment / school / etc (well patient visits)
- Work alongside Medical Assistants to evaluate the health of patients and create treatment plans for patients aged 12-65
- Provide patient education about available support services and helping them access care
- Working with public health officials to help underserved communities gain access to care
o Really need someone passionate about serving the community, this clinic serves many patients experiencing homelessness
- Emphasizing primary prevention to avoid disease or injury before it occurs
- Skills: will be trained, expanded role nurses (physicals, order studies/labs, decision treatments)
o All taught from nurse protocols - not relying on MD orders
- Strongly preferred to have BSN but NO experience needed (manager said ASN would be acceptable for an all star candidate)
- Can be entry level as long as they has passion to work with underserved patients
